In short
A sworn translation page is 1,125 characters including spaces; every started page counts as full. The total depends on language, urgency and difficulty. We quote the exact amount after assessing the document, before work starts.
What a billable page is
A sworn translation page is 25 lines of 45 characters — 1,125 characters. Letters, digits, punctuation and spaces all count. A started page counts as full: a 1,300-character document is two pages.
What affects the price
- Language and direction
- Volume in billable pages
- Urgency
- Handwriting and poor scans
- Lots of stamps and seals — they're translated too
- Medical or legal terminology
- Extra copies
Why the price comes after assessment
The same kind of document can take one or two billable pages, depending on stamps, notes and which pages must be translated. So a fair price can only be given once the translator has seen the document.
How to save
- Send a clear scan of every page at once
- Order early, without urgency
- Check whether the whole document or only certain pages must be translated — the institution decides
- With many documents, ask about a package price
